BRENDA HOPKINS

Brenda is from Lansing NY,  and now resides in Groton, NY with her husband of 33 years, Jim.  They have raised three children, and are expecting their second grandchild in October 2009.
Brenda's dad (Lyle Crandall) began teaching her to play guitar at the ripe old age of 4 years old.  At around 9 years of age, with the nudging and loving support of her parents, Brenda began to get up to sing with local bands at area Jamborees.
In the late 70's & early 80's Brenda was a member of bands such as Countryside and Gamblers Dream.
She worked full time as a bookkeeper for many years. When the kids grew up and moved on it was time for her to get back into the country music that she loves so much.
She started playing her guitar more often, practiced on her keyboard, started picking tunes on her husbands banjo, decided to buy and teach herself how to play violin (which quickly became a FIDDLE ha- ha-ha)
In April of 2004 the Ridge Road Rambler band called looking for a lead guitar player as well as a rhythm  guitarist.   Jim and Brenda were happy to join the band, and have been members ever since.
